Movers' Ratings

Ratings and feedback on our movers is a very important part of MovinGood.com. It helps customers make an informed decision on which mover they will use and helps keep our movers accountable.

Feedback for moving service providers in these categories may be left only if you hire movers through our site: residential moving, commercial moving, long distance (interstate) moving, piano moving and last minute moving.

Understanding how movers are rated on MovinGood.com will help you choose the best mover for your situation. Movers are rated on a scale of 0 to 5, with 5 being the top rating (think 5 star hotel). Customers that have used a MovinGood.com mover are invited to rate that mover and leave detailed feedback about their experience. A particular mover’s rating is the average of all the ratings they have received from MovinGood.com customers. Note that this usually results in a rating that is not a whole number.

Before a customer decides on a mover at MovinGood.com, they should check each mover’s rating and feedback. This can be a big help in determining which mover to use. But you need to keep the following things in mind:
  • Moving quotes from different movers tend to reflect their rating: the higher the mover’s rating, the more they may charge. Movers with a higher rating have worked hard to earn their reputation so it is understandable if their bid is higher.
  • When looking at movers’ ratings you need to look not only at their rating, but the number of moves that rating is based on. For example, two movers both have a five star rating, but one mover’s rating is based on ten moves and the other is based on one move. The first mover’s rating is based on more moves and as such you could be very confident that this mover would do a great job on their next move. This conclusion cannot be drawn from the second mover’s rating since they have only done one job; their next move might not go as well. Here again the first mover’s bid may be higher because their rating is based on a number of jobs.
  • A mover that has no rating is not the same thing as a mover having a poor rating. A mover could be the best in the business but if they just signed up with MovinGood.com they won’t have a rating or any feedback yet. And they will often offer very competitive bids while they are establishing their rating. Just be sure you investigate them thoroughly before you use them.

When dealing with any MovinGood.com mover, you can remind them that they cannot charge hidden fees. But remember that moving boxes and one-time use items are not considered hidden fees (check the Movers’ Bidding page for a complete discussion). Many movers sell moving boxes but these boxes may be on the expensive side. If you need a lot of moving boxes you may want to shop around for an inexpensive supplier.
